Tucson Unified School District to Implement Synergy Education Platform for All Grade Levels
Edupoint® Educational Systems’ Synergy® Student Information System (SIS) has been chosen by the Tucson Unified School District to replace it’s existing SIS and Special Education solutions in the district’s 90+ schools. Selected under the Statewide Student Information System contract recently awarded to Edupoint by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), Tucson USD joins 94 other school districts in the state utilizing the Synergy Education Platform.
With nearly 60,000 students, educators and administrators, Tucson USD is the second-largest school district in Arizona, where accurate, timely and compliant management of student data is critical for executing its mission to “Deliver Excellence in Education Every Day.” The adoption of Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) by ADE necessitated the district’s upgrade to a new SIS system; however, state-compliant reporting capabilities are but a small component of the Synergy value proposition.
For Tucson USD educators, Synergy’s electronic gradebook will be fully integrated with SIS and the official report card. Classroom reports can now be custom configured, scheduled to run when needed, then automatically emailed to all recipients. Collaboration is built in, between teachers and with parents and students, and the secure, web-based solution is always available from anywhere – even on iOS and Android devices. Synergy’s intuitive user interface delivers efficiencies that make teachers more productive so that they spend more time teaching and less time on administrative tasks.
District administrators see Synergy as a powerful, yet comparatively inexpensive, SIS solution that helps its schools meet ADE’s stringent compliance requirements, yet is flexible enough to enable customization for their Desegregation / Unitary Status Plan and other unique requirements. Synergy’s integrated parent/student portals and mobile apps also advance the district’s critical goal of increasing parent engagement.
“We are excited to welcome Tucson USD into the Synergy family,” announced Rob Wilson, Edupoint’s President and Chief Innovation Officer. “As the leading SIS provider in the State of Arizona, we see TUSD’s selection of Synergy as a strong vote of confidence in Edupoint and our ADE partnership. We look forward to simplifying and streamlining the data management and access experience for all TUSD stakeholders, as we continue to ensure that all of our Arizona school districts benefit from the most robust and cost-effective SIS technology.”
Tucson USD will roll out the Synergy Education Platform in phases over the next year with the full implementation being completed by the August 2016 school year.
