Synergy Special Education by Edupoint Receives CASE Re-Endorsement

Endorsed products must support students with disabilities and align with current special education research

Edupoint® Educational Systems, creator of the industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform for K-12 student information and learning management, today announced that its Synergy Special Education (SE) solution has been re-endorsed by the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE).

CASE is an international professional organization providing leadership and support for special education administrators, promoting best practices in special education, and advocating for effective policies to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. CASE endorses research-based products and practices highly correlated to improved outcomes for students with disabilities. Criteria for endorsement include the following:

  • Alignment of functionality with current special education research
  • Reputation and track record of supporting students with disabilities
  • Cost of implementation
  • Scalability
  • Customer satisfaction data
  • Support for CASE mission and standards

Synergy SE initially received CASE endorsement in 2011 and has been re-endorsed three times. Key product enhancements evaluated for the current re-endorsement include:

  • Deeper Connections Between Synergy Special Education (SE) and Synergy MTSS – A seamless process now links intervention data collected in Synergy MTSS to the Multi-Discipline Evaluation Report in Synergy SE. Interactive features make it easy for teachers to request special education evaluations for at-risk students – sharing evidence from Synergy MTSS – and to keep processes on track using automated workflows with notifications.
  • Progress Monitoring - IEP goals automatically display on the Progress Monitoring screen, enabling staff to view graphed data and keep track of scores and updates.
  • Service Tracking – Service providers can conveniently schedule services from a calendar and sign records to accompany Medicaid billing data. They can also track the services they have delivered to the students they work with, while administrators can track services delivered to all students.
  • Improved Special Education Process Customization Options – Districts can define custom documents and workflows, collecting data from families via the ParentVUE® portal.
  • Concurrent 504 & Special Education Processes – Synergy 504 can run alongside Synergy SE or independently, allowing for students with disabilities who do not qualify for special education services under IDEA to be evaluated for Section 504 eligibility and receive 504 Accommodation Plans.

“It’s an honor to once again receive the CASE re-endorsement,” says Rob Wilson, President & Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. “We are proud to see Synergy SE recognized as an Assessment, Data Collection, and Progress Monitoring product aligned with the CASE organization’s mission to advance the field of special education.”
