Greenville Public Schools Becomes First School District to Select Synergy Education Platform Through Michigan’s REMC SAVE Bid Project
Edupoint® Educational Systems has been selected by Michigan’s Greenville Public Schools to implement the company’s industry-leading Synergy® Education Platform, replacing PowerSchool in the semi-rural district serving approximately 3,800 students. Greenville’s Synergy solution includes the fully-integrated Synergy Student Information System (SIS), Synergy Online Registration, and Synergy Assessment, as well as the Inspect® Item Bank from Key Data Systems that works seamlessly with Synergy Assessment.
Greenville is the first Michigan school district to contract with Edupoint through Michigan’s REMC SAVE Bid Project, a cooperative purchasing program that saves schools money and simplifies the procurement of educational resources. REMC SAVE is a project of the REMC Association of Michigan on behalf of all Michigan schools. Edupoint is providing Synergy implementation and training in conjunction with its Michigan-based business partner Computer Management Technologies (CMT).
“Our district chose to switch from PowerSchool to Synergy to enhance standards-based grading, assessment, and parent/student communication,” said Laura Pleune, Director of Instructional Technology at Greenville Public Schools. “We made the decision in August of last year and made the switch before the start of the current school year. Teachers are currently creating both formative and summative assessments using the Inspect test bank, and we have improved efficiency through our use of the parent-student-teacher conference scheduling tool and the ParentVUE, StudentVUE, and TeacherVUE portals. Our whole system is strengthened by Synergy, and we are very grateful to Tri-County, who also uses Synergy as their SIS, for sharing practical tips. Service provided to us by the team at CMT has also been invaluable to us during this implementation.”
“Greenville Public schools wanted a student data management solution that would help the district track student learning against standards and improve the home-school connection,” said Rob Wilson, President and Chief Innovation Officer at Edupoint. “Edupoint’s Synergy Education Platform provides the communication tools, assessment capabilities, and comprehensive standards support Greenville needed to achieve district goals. We are pleased to welcome Greenville Public Schools to the Synergy family and appreciate our partnerships with REMC SAVE and CMT that helped to bring Greenville on board.”
Greenville Public Schools rolled out Synergy Education Platform districtwide in August.
