Edupoint’s Washington Growth Continues with Northshore School District’s Selection of Synergy

Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information systems (SIS) provider for the national K-12 market, has been selected by Northshore School District (NSD) to implement its Synergy® Education Platform to support the district’s 20,000 students across 32 campuses and programs.

Northshore School District needed an updated student data management solution to replace the eSIS SIS solution that had been in place at the district for over ten years.  Even before they were notified by their vendor about the eSIS end-of-life, NSD knew they wanted to evaluate modern SIS solutions against changing end-user needs of teachers, staff, parents and students.  After an extensive RFP process and solution demonstrations to over sixty-five central administration and building users, Synergy was selected based on the solution’s customizable framework and flexible workflow, integrated teaching and instruction solutions, and robust collaboration tools which actively engage families in the education process.

“Throughout the evaluation process, it was clear that users on all levels – teachers, registrars, district administration, and our own IT staff – found functionality within Synergy that they were excited about,” says Allen Miedema, Director of Technology for Northshore School District.  “From general user-friendliness, improved workflows, and the ease of getting data out of the system, Synergy scored high marks with our evaluation committee.  We also gained valuable insight from numerous peer relationships we have formed over the years with other school districts.  Hearing about the success they had migrating from eSIS to Edupoint’s solutions gave us the confidence that we made the right decision by selecting Synergy.”

The Synergy Education Platform provides districts with an integrated suite of solutions that is built on a powerful student information system, including greatly expanded capabilities to meet data management for online registration, learning management and assessment, curriculum management, state reporting, and powerful role-based mobile applications for almost every user type. By redefining student data management, Synergy streamlines processes, saves time, promotes communication, and informs instructional decisions for improved student success.

“We’re pleased to welcome Northshore School District to the Edupoint family,” says Bob Weathers, Edupoint’s Founder and CEO.  “Synergy’s robust functionality and intuitive instructional and learning management solutions, combined with our proven implementation methodology, will provide the district with a powerful technology solution designed to optimize district and student performance.  We look forward to growing our partnership with NSD and to continued growth throughout Washington.”

Northshore School District will work directly with Edupoint’s project management, implementation, and training teams for a phased roll-out of Synergy, with the first components currently live for the start of the 2014/2015 academic term.
