MiCase Consortium Selects Edupoint’s Synergy Education Platform

Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information system (SIS) solution for the national K-12 market, has been selected by the MiCase Consortium to implement the Synergy® Education Platform.  Faced with an end-of-life notification from their previous SIS provider, GlobalScholar, the Consortium sought new enterprise technology designed to support personalized learning, improve quality and consistency of teaching, and improve access to information for all K-12 stakeholders.

Located in southwestern Michigan, the MiCase (Michigan Collaborative Administrative Solutions for Education) Consortium provides information and data management services for its members, including SIS support for approximately 60,000 students.  After an extensive RFP process with eleven vendors evaluated – including solution demonstrations to over 130 stakeholders from districts across the Consortium – MiCase selected Synergy as one of two SIS solutions it will host and support for its members.  Synergy was chosen by 23 of the 33 districts based on its robust SIS feature set, automated state reporting, flexible scheduling options, and its ability to streamline processes to improve efficiencies of student data management.  Synergy’s flexibility will allow MiCase to appropriately scale and configure the solution to meet their member districts’ individual needs.

“We had an extensive list of non-negotiables as it pertained to the features and functionality of our new student information system, and Edupoint’s Synergy Education Platform clearly met our Consortium’s needs,” said Don Dailey, Executive Director of the MiCase Consortium.  “The solution’s strong feature set will eliminate our need for numerous third-party plug-in applications, and Synergy’s built in query and reporting tools will provide us with easy access to district data.  We look forward to developing a longstanding relationship with Edupoint and providing all of our consortium stakeholders – including parents – with real-time insight into a student’s academic achievement.”

MiCase will join other Michigan consortiums – including Genesee Intermediate School District and the Alpena Schools Consortium – along with districts such as Wyoming Public Schools and Clarkston Community Schools who currently utilize the Synergy Education Platform in the state of Michigan.  With local support provided by Computer Management Technologies, the MiCase Consortium plans to go live with Synergy in time for the 2014/2015 academic year.

“Edupoint is excited to welcome another regional service agency to our Michigan customer base,” says Bob Weathers, Edupoint’s Founder and CEO.  “Synergy provides the level of scalability, performance and configurability that multi-district consortiums demand, and we look forward to working closely with our Michigan Certified Business Partner, Computer Management Technologies (CMT), on the successful implementation of our new districts.”
